Second time there but first as a goalie. What a head game to be in front of 18,000 knowing you let in the tying goal. I didn't get my shutout but I was only off by 7.
Thanks to Barb and the folks at the X for making this happen.

That was just flat out a awesome time last night at the X. The ice there was incredible, a staff person told me that it is for a good reason. They hired a well known Zamboni driver from the St. Louis Blues to drive for the Wild he is so good! It seemed like everyone had a blast, I was in white and the guys on the bench were hysterical the whole time. That along with playing out there on the ice made it a simply really fun and outstanding night! My wife said she got some really good video and pictures to of the game.
I had talked to someone on my bench briefly about that he had a friend having to stop police work due to the exact same reasons I did due to having Crohn's Disease. I was waring the white USA practice jersey. I am personally trying to get back into police work after needing to get a ostomy bag, that's a separate challenge. If your buddy doesn't mind exchanging stories that would be great, people with Crohn's and IBD has this brother and sister hood in itself. My story is really long and extensive due to server Crohn's, so if anything I may be able to offer some advice or from them as well? Let me know if they are cool with that, it would be really interesting to talk wtih them about what there experiences have been wtih Crohn's and how it is going for him or her? Let me know whenever you have the time and if he or she is comfortable with that also, and I will give you all my contact information!.
Another great thing about hockey, it will take your mind away from work and everything. Do most of you guys play at a certain rink, or preety much all over? I play in AHA, but getting a JMS game in is so worth it and really fun!
Great time last night everyone, I hope we can do this again really soon, like next week?!, lol Go Wild!

I have to agree it was a fun time as well. This was only my 4th time playing hockey, and I am sure it showed out there, but I still had a fun time.
I was on the dark team wearing the MN Wild Practice Jersey, and had my buddy down there with the professional camera equipment taking some photo's of the game. I think he said he took close to 400 photos.
Anyways, good game played by all. I am going to attach a couple photos that my friend sent to me. Cant wait to see the rest of them.
see you guys on the ice.

I don't wanna burst any bubbles, but in the interest of accuracy... As a memeber of the ice crew at the Xcel Center, I can tell you on good authority we don't have any 'imported talent' from Missouri or elsewhere. It's all home-grown. The person you talked to was either mistaken or just pulling your leg. If anything, it'd be the other way around. My supervisor does get calls periodically from other ice managers in the league looking for tips to improve their ice since ours is generally so good. We work really hard to make it as good as possible but for the most part, it's a mixture of a favorable climate (in the winter anyway) and good water chemistry. St. Paul tap water makes an excellent sheet of ice.
We're from local rinks with a few old Met Center guys mixed in. Some of the rinks we currently work at or have worked at include: St. Thomas Ice Arena (me), Eagan Civic Arena, Plymouth Ice Center, Burnsville Ice Center, Dakotah Sport & Fitness in Prior Lake and the Super Rink in Blaine.

Not at all, I felt very fortunate just to play hockey there. Thanks for your note on the facts. Let alone how good the ice is, Its the best hockey arena I have ever been to, from the professional staff to the fans experience watching a game there.
