In episode 48 of the classic Gilligan's Island television show, the fictitious American rock 'n roll band, The Mosquitoes, in trying to escape from their crazy fans, wind up with the castaways on the latter's island. Hoping the musicians will help them escape from the island, Ginger, Mary Ann, and Lovey (Mrs. Howell) form a singing trio, The Honeybees, to develop some comraderie with the visitors. Unfortunately, the women are so good that the Mosquitoes feel threatened by the possible competition, and in true Gilligan's Island form, return to the States and leave the castaways behind. Here's the song the Honeybees sang to impress The Mosquitoes. (I've included my annotations.)
