The longtime JMSers know that we have to contract for our ice waaaaay in advance, hence this snowy-day discussion about our hockey options for the week of July 4.

Normally we don't play on the 4th itself, but DO play on the days surrounding it. But... it's on a Wednesday this year, which makes me think a lot of people will just take the whole week off--and with fewer people around, we'd have far less to populate our games.

One thing to remember is that five guys who REALLY want to skate on July 3 is great for support, but a woefully low turnout actually on the ice--we have to think beyond enthusiasm to estimate the actual numbers as close as possible to ensure the right choice. Nobody wants cancellations or games with 12 players.

So, if we have to plan your hockey schedule early, we'll ask for your feedback. Will you want to play hockey the week of July 4?

I usually play Monday nights at Wakota and would play during that week.

I'm always game.

Roll a few community sessions, you should get bodies.

I'd play. I usually don't go anywhere.

I'd vote yes, I like to play at least once a week and will be around that week.
Stick down, head up
